Aimee Edwards is a graduate from The University of Texas at Austin. She has a BS in Kinesiology and All Level Physical Education teaching certification. She is the Coordinated School Health Chair for Davis Elementary. In addition to her roles on campus, she has been the past president for Austin Association for Physical Education and Recreation (AAPER) and was an Elementary Physical Education curriculum writer for the district for 9 years. Mrs. Edwards volunteers at community events that encourage healthy-lifestyles for our youth such as Marathon Kids, the AAPER Cross Country Run, and the 5th Grade AAPER Volleyball Playday held at The University of Texas at Austin. She has been in charge of the games at Vacation Bible school at St. Matthew's Episcopal Church and St. Mary's Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church. She has also been involved at the state level as the chair for Area 3 Division for the Texas Association for Health, Physical Education, Recreation, and Dance (TAHPERD) 2014-2016. She started her teaching career at Davis in 1999. In 2003, she was moved by the district to Andrews Elementary, and returned to Davis in 2007. She lead Davis to earn the TAHPERD Exemplary School award at Level 2 (2014-16), Mayor's Healthiest School Award (2017), and Let's Move Active Schools National Award (2017). She was voted Davis Teacher of the Year in 2014-15 school year. She was also nominated for TAHPERD Elementary PE Teacher of the year in 2015, 2016 and 2017. She is a member of SHAPE America. On a personal side, she has been married 16 years. Her son, Thane, lives in South Austin and is a Davis Alumni. Her step daughter lives in North Austin. She lives in Cedar Park with her husband and Shih Tzu dog, named Gizmo. Her hobbies include reading, working with plants, kayaking and playing games. During the Covid 19 stay at home orders, she learned how to sew and took many walks!

Hello, my name is Angela Gaither best known as Coach G. I am the traveling PE Teacher for Davis Elementary School. My home school is Lee Lewis Campbell Elementary Media and Performing Arts Institute. I am very excited to be the new Traveling PE Teacher for Davis. This is going to be a great and exciting year filled with wonderful new experiences. My goal is to provide you with great education, information, knowledge, skills, and tools to last a lifetime. I would like Health and Physical Fitness to be normal choices in your everyday lives.
